    THE BEGINNING

 Cristina Georgeta Ryan began learning the piano at the age of five and the violin at the age of six. At the age of nine she began studying at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Having won several prizes in the National competition series Feis Ceoil and other national competitions, she also received several high achiever awards from the Royal Irish Academy of Music local centre examinations board and performed at the Awards ceremony. She was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland . In her youth, she performed as solosist and has lead many orchestra's and has toured throughout Ireland, Britain, Europe and America. In 2005, she performed as a soloist with the Dublin Youth Symphony Orchestra on their tour to San Francisco, San Jose and throughout California.      

   

    STUDIES

 In 2007 she began her studies Bachelor of Music Performance at the Royal Academy of Music - London under Mateja Marinkovic. She has received many masterclasses from world renowned musicians such as Tasmin Little, Alexander Pavlovic, Sir Hugh Maguire, Felix Schmidt and Jasna Maksimovic.

In 2011 she returned to Ireland to complete a Masters in Music Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music - Dublin. 

 

    ORCHESTRAS

She has played in several orchestras under the baton of celebrity conductors Sir Colin Davis, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Edward Gargner, Simon Wright, Daniel Barenboim, Jessica Cottis, Leif Segestram, Tadaaki Otaka, and Ignat Solzhenitsyn. She has worked as freelance with the London Symphony 

Orchestra, The Irish Symphony Orchestra and the Irish Chamber Orchestra. 

 

   SPECIAL PROJECTS

 - In September 2009 she partook in a concert alongside Sir Elton John in the Royal Albert hall as part of a fundraising event for the Royal Academy of Music.

 - In 2011 she toured with the RIAM Chamber orchestras throughout the United stated performing in Washington ( The Metropolitan) and in New York (Carnegie Hall)

 - In August '12 she was invited to take part in the Clandeboye music festival directed by Barry Douglas as part of the 'upcoming young artists series'. Upcoming concerts include solo concerts at venues including  Castletown House, NUI Maynooth lunchtime series along with performing Mozart's Violin Concerto No.4 in Dmajor in May 2013 with the RIAM Chamber Orchestra. 

 

   TELEVISION / WORLD PREMIERES

 She has appeared on International television working on the tv series of The XFactor 2010. She was also part of the world premiere of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’s opera Kommilitonen! (‘Young Blood!’) in mid March 2011.     

 

   QUALIFICATIONS

She has completed a four year BMus Honours Performance Degree in Violin at the Royal Academy of Music London and was awarded the LRAM Certificate - Licentiate Teaching Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music - London. She also holds a Master of Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music - Dublin. 


   CURRENT PERFORMANCES

Cristina has performed in concert halls all over the world. She tours regularly throughout Europe where she currently resides in Spain. 

She has developed her show to include music from all genres. Pop, Classical, Rock, Motown, Movies not forgetting to include her love for Irish Traditional Music.

Her show is appreciated for its unique ability to combine the classical world with the modern pop culture so for an audience - There is something for everyone!!
